Ingredients
  

Main Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter browned
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup toffee bits

Method
 

  1. Brown the butter in a saucepan until golden and nutty, then let cool.
  2. Mix butter with sugars, then add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Combine dry ingredients separately, then mix into wet ingredients.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips and toffee bits.
  5. Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 10–12 minutes until golden.

Notes

Chilling the dough enhances flavor and texture. Slightly underbake for chewy centers.
