- Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden and nutty smelling.
- Whisk together browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- Whisk dry ingredients separately and combine with wet ingredients.
- Fold in toffee bits and chopped chocolate.
- Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
- Bake at 350°F for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Chilling the dough overnight creates even deeper caramelized flavor and thicker cookies.
