Ingredients
  

Main Dough
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
Optional Add-ins
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugars until smooth, then add eggs and vanilla.
  4. Mix in dry ingredients, then fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Scoop dough onto baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes.
  6. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra soft cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
