Ingredients
  

Caramel Base
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cubed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
Nut Mix
  • 1 1/2 cups walnuts toasted and chopped
  • 1 pinch flaky sea salt optional topping

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
  2. Toast walnuts until fragrant and set aside.
  3. Cook maple syrup, brown sugar, condensed milk, butter, and salt until 245°F.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and walnuts.
  5. Spread into prepared pan and cool completely.
  6. Chill until firm, cut into bite-sized squares, and serve.

Notes

For best texture, use a candy thermometer and allow the caramel to fully cool before slicing.
