Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Glaze
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3-4 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast by combining warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let foam for 5–10 minutes.
  2. Mix flour and salt, then add yeast mixture, egg, butter, and vanilla. Knead until smooth dough forms.
  3. Let dough rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  4. Roll out dough and cut into mini squares or circles.
  5. Fry in hot oil at 350°F until golden and puffed.
  6. Whisk glaze ingredients and coat warm beignets before serving.

Notes

Best served fresh. Maintain oil temperature for best texture. Glaze while warm for optimal absorption.
