Ingredients
  

Churro Dough
  • 1 cup water
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 whole vanilla bean seeds scraped
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Vanilla Sugar Coating
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 whole vanilla bean seeds scraped

Equipment

  • piping bag with star tip

Method
 

  1. Boil water, butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla bean seeds.
  2. Add flour and stir until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Cool slightly, then mix in eggs and vanilla extract.
  4. Pipe twisted strips using a star tip.
  5. Fry until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Coat in vanilla cinnamon sugar and serve warm.

Notes

Maintain oil temperature at 375°F for the crispiest results.
